Sustainability advantage
Sustainability advantage
Leaner inventory and unified fleet reduce waste. Extended asset lifespan and lower environmental footprint
TongWELD performs automated vertical welding during the running process, joining pipes end-to-end to create a seamless, monolithic string in real-time — unlike conventional methods that require threaded couplings, horizontal welding, or complex rotation.
Why blank pipes win
Laser-welded casing strings: monolithic strength and gas-tight reliability at a fraction of the cost.
Major cost savings
Major cost savings
Blank pipes are 15% to over 200% less cost than conventional casing pipes with couplings.
Perfect wellbore seal
Perfect wellbore seal
Dramatically improves cementing quality due to sleek unified strings with no geometric obstructions.
Reduce diameter of well section
Reduce diameter of well section
Change the well diameter by reduction of drilling section. Savings on excavation, drilling fluid, and cement volumes.
Reduction of operational risks
Reduction of operational risks
A smooth, coupling-free design minimizes sticking and allows the string to be rotated to resolve issues.

Comparable standard equipment
Comparable standard equipment
Similar dimensions and weight to a conventional hydraulic tong
Compatible with standard pipes
Compatible with standard pipes
102–178 mm / 4.02-7.01 inches or 178–245 mm / 7.01-9.65 inches diameters, wall thickness 5–14 mm / 0.2–0.55 inches, any strength grade
Ability to cut the casing string during retrieval
In the rare event of an insurmountable problem during running, the string may require retrieval and disassembly.
In such cases, the unit’s welding head can be swapped for a cutting head in just 10 to 15 minutes, enabling the pipe to be cut 20–30 mm from the weld.
The precision of the cut allows for immediate re-welding at the cut end, with no additional preparation required.
